His Excellency Eng. Ahmad A. Al-Fares, Governor of SAGO, stated that the quantity specified in the tender is distributed to 10 shipments; six shipments to be delivered to Jeddah Islamic Port, and four shipments to be delivered to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
H.E. said that this batch of imported wheat comes within SAGO’s plan to maintain the strategic reserve of wheat and meet the local demand from the milling companies. Noting that SAGO has contracted to import 2.2 million tpy; 64 000 t of which are produced by Saudi investments abroad, and purchased nearly 386 000 t from the local farmers' production.
